An estimated 7.6 million, or one in five people (across the
lifespan), live with chronic pain in Canada, many of whom report it adversely
affecting some or most daily activities Canadian Pain Task Force Report: March 2021. Empowering
your patients/clients to engage in self-management strategies for chronic pain
can improve their health outcomes. Tools, techniques and resources based in
evidence will be presented using frameworks from cognitive behavioural therapy,
acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing. This workshop
is appropriate for any provider who works with people living with chronic pain.
Please note that participants are expected to be on
camera during the workshop, and be able to actively engage in discussion,
breakout rooms, and skills practice. Please plan accordingly, so that you can
be an active participant.
